Why I Started A Talent Management Company — Founder’s Story

I have over 15 years of experience producing, directing, and writing feature films. I have worked as a producer on over 12 film and television projects. One of the most difficult parts of the entire filmmaking process is casting. Casting is difficult not only because of budgetary or scheduling difficulties, but mostly because it can be so extraordinarily trying to ever get an honest answer from the potential actor or their representation. I cannot tell you how many times I have cast an actor after months of belabored conversations with either the agent or manager, and the talent was never even informed of the process.

Obviously, I am not opposed to rigorous and competitive negotiations and clever sales tactics, but more often than not, the casting process is wrought with dishonest and unprofessional dialogue, which leaves the actor never even knowing about employment opportunities. This archaic and unproductive process needs an update and refresh from the ground up.
